This is an elegant circa 1960 ivory silk coat and dress set that was originally sold at Bergdorf Goodman. The design has a distinct Balenciaga look, with its sculptural trapeze silhouette, gathered seams, and architectural lines. Every detail is finished by hand. The coat features large bold black crochet buttons. The coat is fully lined by hand in ivory colored silk. The coat is paired with a simple black sheath dress with an empire waist and cap style shoulders. This set is designed to perfection and I wouldn’t be surprised if it was a Norell. This set is in very good condition. Both coat and dress contains a Bergdorf label. Both labels are lightly untacked. Light spots on the jacket, these are really only seen if you are searching for them and are under studio photography lighting. The dress is best suited for a small, the coat has flexibility for size due to the cut and could work for a small to medium.
