This is an exceptional Gustave Tassell ivory wool and glass beaded ensemble from the 1960s. This refined two piece design captures Tassell’s high end luxury, pairing a sleeveless ivory wool dress with a coordinating cropped jacket. The dress is structured and features a satin ribbon belt that hooks at the waist. The ribbon has tiny snaps around the waistline where the ribbon covers the waist. The jacket features a Peter Pan collar and buttons down the front. The long sleeves are entirely beaded with shimmering glass bugle beads that create a striking textural contrast. This beauty is fully lined and the jacket in a silky satin. The dress has an expertly hand sewn zipper down the back. This remarkable ensemble embodies Tassell’s elegant and opulent approach to American couture. This set is in good condition but does have some wear to the front jacket. There is light spotting/watermark to the front and left side of the jacket, this is only really seen if you are closely inspecting or under strong lighting.
